lumpenprol
So, does the shift in the middle of this track make it devastating and epic, or an example of Ae fucking up a beautiful ambient track with bleepy farts? Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide lumpenprol's signature Hide all signatures After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside. - lost cloud I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work! So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces. -organized confused project Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/29460-surripere/ Share on other sites
Guest Rook
the epic complexity of this track is fairly astounding. Rarely do Autechre tracks conjure up images of space/space stations for me, but this is one of them (along with Second Scout). But it is not a "oh look cool a space station awesome" image. More of a in depth study of human emotions in space. It reminds me heavily of the Russian film Solaris. And feels very long, like it is pulling the skin of your face downward. The bass played on a proper sound system ought to give one a feeling beneath the sternum which aids in the emotive power of the track. The second half is the equivalent to a more disturbing resurrection scene as was filmed in Solaris. You don't want to watch, yet you cannot look away. You feel the pain of the one being resurrected. Eyes rolled back, spine arched stiff, fingered in a claw like form. It ends with a few moments of silence because it would be inappropriate to change directions immediately after such a disturbing display. Plus, it works well with the next song, Theme from Sudden Roundabout. Fantastic. Guest texan whip
it's a great track - that and the last one off draft are the highlights for me! i imagine space station architects of the future will be listening to such music whilst orbiting the cold black moons of pluto. Caretstik
Surripere is easily the highlight of Draft 7.30 for me. I didn't get any space imagery until now though. Interesting. QBLA
the image i always get of Surripere is this! at the beginning there's a close up of a profile of an anime dude's eyes as the track progresses the view pans out slowly to show his anime style hair and a black trenchcoat with a big collar... he is still but the background is constantly moving... then when the track progresses into the second part, the trenchcoat comes off to expose a display of robotic spider legs moving rather crazylike... each leg representing a sound from the percussions... so you can imagine how many legs are at work... but his upper body is still stoic and still... his face with no emotion! when the track ends... he just breaks down! that's my surripere! Guest Enter a new display name
I have always compared the ambient beat in the first minutes of Surripere with a track you could hear in a video game located in the jungle, like Pitfall or Indiana Jones, lol!
