Transparent Chains

I find this track enjoyable. I think you play with space very well here - good panning and good use of reverb to set some of the percussion / guitar up in different depths. overall the track reminds me a little but of Trans Am. kinda upbeat and fuzzy

but then it didnt do that

00:12 like the shaker percussion

00:38 nice bass

00:43 like the bass notes there

00:44 ouch! door slam

00:51 not sure about descending bass notes right here

00:54 but here is ok again

01:02 like the bass notes here again

01:03 ouch! another door slam

01:10 those descending notes again

01:25 the track retreats to regroup

01:47 door slam! aarrgghh

02:00 like the synth added to the bass

the first time I listened, it washed over me quite nicely (except for the door slams) and I got a nice,but busy vibe from it.

the second time I listened through (to write those notes), the track seemed less complex and a bit less interesting.

There are some nice elements in there, but I could have done without the door slams and those descending bass notes at 00:51 (just didnt sound quite right somehow)

but i like the general sound, and the slightly chaotic nature of the thing.

this is good. fairly unique too. those occasional banging noises really stick out.

Thanks for the critiques everyone. (They're shotgun sounds by the way. There's also sword slicing sounds as well underneath it all.)

Now here's an idea.

I dig it. The bass reminded me of Gary Numan, The Pleasure Principal (which is s good thing). The rest of the elements were significantly more lively and groovy than Gary Numan. I like the midrangey noise snare-like instrument.

after listening again i must say i quite like the "ouch! door slam"/ shotgun sound

its good... sounds are good, as previously mentioned, the space is good... i especially like the bendy sound... (i like bendy sounds a lot)....

i listened through twice and i liked it both times i listened... but after i got done listening, i couldn't remember what i liked about it. that is to say, i think you could do a LOT more with this track... keep building off the elements you have, which are all good, and make this an extra special track.

i really liked this. has a solid beat and i enjoyed the addition of the strings and high frequencies that would came and go as they pleased. the space is probably what i enjoyed the most.

the beat is fantastic, but the handclap sounds out of place. good track otherwise.

I liked it. I liked the concept of the door slams but would eq them a bit so they fit into the mix better.
