Reason enquiry

Not sure how many of you use Reason 4.0 or if you rate it or not, but if you do could you explain how you can create patterns with the Synth's on there?

It seems to be built to work with Midi Keyboards, how important is it that I get one of these?

create a matrix sequencer under the synth

in addition to the matrix sequencer:

at the bottom of the rack there's a sequencer view to create a track for each device, the tracks then have an edit view where you can enter notes via piano roll. there's also lanes for automation

(that's based on reason 3, i haven't really used 4)

Create a Synth ---> Switch to Edit Mode in the Sequencer ---> Draw a Clip ---> Draw Notes Inside the Clip ---> Done.

draw a clip with the pencil tool, it looks like a pencil.

it certainly is nice to have a midi keyboard BUT, i usually use the matrix when i have to.

i've like never used the matrix in a song. i usually just play with it to make acid squelches and such, but nothing serious.

Not so familiar with the new synths but, take a subtractor, flip the rack, take a CV output from lfo 1, split and attach to gate and note cv in on itself and sit back and relax lol.
