Luke Vibert & the Accessability Factor

Recommended Posts

Yeah, so it seems to me Lukey here is a good intro into (good) electronic music for a lot of people. Not TOO crazy but not bland by any means. After playing some Wagon Christ, Plug, and (of course) Luke Vibert to my buddy the past couple of weeks, his normally rock music listening self (with no electronic experience) has actually been able to START grasping more types of Braindance, like Aphex, Ceephax, Untrkmind, and more. Has anyone else noticed or experienced this?

BTW, Crazy Disco Party is a fucking awesome song. :braindance::braindance::braindance::braindance::braindance:

It seems to happen more with Boards of Canada - or that's my experience.

When I bought Tally Ho I was more into hip hop at the time, and it seemed to be a natural transition.

Why you hate BoC so much mang?

I enjoy the fragility of the rolling lol tbh. The broken lol is like our own mortality staring us in the face, reminding us to enjoy that sunset.

I liked Luke Vibert last out of any of the featured artists. I really like Benefist. But I really rarely listen to him anymore. He is more of a guilty pleasure every once in a while. A little too silly/dancey pop for me. I always feel like every time I listen to him, I am a little too close to listening to mainstream disco pop or something. Which is another reason I like Benefist because it is mostly his best acid ever.

And I like Boards of Canada. Just not so much that everytime I see a tree blowing in the wind at sunrise, I feel a need to post about how it was such a BOC moment in my life on an internet forum.

Because clearly that's the only reason someone could like Autechre.

okay, yeah, serious thread contribution time.

i never really got into vibert until i'd been listening to electronic music for ages... dunno why. BOC is definitely another good intro, but nowadays i simply like vibert's stuff more, so would probably intro with him.
