Envane

So the anticipation for Quaristice and Rook's infectious Ae pumping have got me rummaging back through their discography, and I'm hooked on this corking ep again. I couldn't find a thread already singing its praises, so I guess it's high time.

Laughing Quarter and Draun Quarter, two of Ae's best tracks. And, I notice, almost absent or entirely absent from the "omg what are your favorite ae tracks??" threads. Is this Ae's most underappreciated ep?

I know it gets some love, but seriously, it's epic. Part of ae's most fertile period imo (Chiastic Slide - EP7)

It's my favorite Ae EP, together with Gescom - Keynell if that may be considered An ae EP ;). All 4 tracks are pure goodness.

I like Envane EP., but yes in fact it's not my favorite.

Goz Quarter remember me Yeesland and Rpeg a little.

The beginning of Goz quarter is the only song in the entire world that will make me smile no matter what mood I am in.

And along with Gaekwad, Draun Quarter is what got me into the Autechre's in the first place!

I really hope AE release another ep after Quaristice. I mean, seriously, their eps have never failed. And this one sure does not. Probably my third favorite Autechre ep after Gantz Graf and Cichlisuite. 10/10.

Some of my favourite autechre tracks. Second Scepe, Second Peng, Laughing Quarter, Draun Quarter and that's me sorted.

i wouldn't say it's underrated. i 'think' alot of fans consider it a strong ep.

as for me? one of their best!!

This and Chiastic Slide are my fav material from Autechre

dude, i love this ep, its glorious. draun quarter is one of my top ae tracks. i think its their most emotional track along with Vietrmx 21 and Nine.

It's like choosing a favorite child, but Envane is definitely up there (with Cichlisuite, Garbage, Peel Session 1, Keynell, Sounds of Machines) as one of my favorite Autechre/Gescom EPs.

Anyone else notice the similarity between Laughing Quarter and Key Nell 3?

One of my favourite ep's, and it's surprisingly mixable too! Even Latent Quarter is mixable, if you skip the intro and drop it at the first beat. I'm soooo glad that I got the 2x12"... I bought this long before I ever had even a shitty record player, in the anticipation that I would one day tear that shit up.

And indeed I did :D

This ep is very emotional for me.. it may be the first electronic music that ever made me cry.
