good news. is it anything like product placement?

I haven't heard any collaboration between DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist other than The Hard Sell. The new album only has 2 tracks: Side 1 (42min26sec) and Side 2 (27:13).

They're touring pretty extensively in support of this - I'll be catching them in Dublin meself (prolly pick up CD then)!

*digs out Brainfreeze & Product Placement for a listen*

*hunts for leak*

Just listened to the slsk leak of this... and my first reaction is of bewilderment, as I can't believe how half-assed and bad this is. The stuff where they reconstruct those old De La beats form the original samples is mildly interesting, but that's about it. Foo Fighters, WTF?!?

Here's hoping that the leak is a fake (either by Shadow/CC themselves or a third party)

I heard the leak, and yeah, it doesnt sound great at all... a bit meh if you ask me...

But, speaking of Dj Shadow, I'd like to say that his last LP, "The outsidder" was like the worst thing ever....

On second thought, The Hard Sell is not that great, indeed. I posted this thread while listening the beginning of Side 1, then I got pretty bored afterward thorough the whole album.

I went to the live show expecting Product Placement 2 but this got really boring quickly. I chalked it up to the fact that it was only the second night of their tour. At least I got to meet Kid Koala.

Brainfreeze was brilliant, awesome tracks, amazing mixing/scratching - definitely a desert island disc for me.

Product Placement was great too - very entertaining start to finish.

The Hard Sell is utter shit. I still can't believe they'd release anything this half-assed. Let's find a record of some retard crooning and let it play for 3 minutes! Whoa, we slowed down the apache break to 33 rpm, awesome! Check it out, we know how to use a loop pedal, amazing! Foo Fighters and Outkast in the same mix, it's, like, one of those newfangled "mash-up" thingys!

Dj Shadow has officially jumped the shark. Think I'll be taking a pass on this tour...

I'm listening to the leak right now and this is not bad at all! This is great that DJ Shadow produces instrumental hip-hop again since The Outsider, lol.

I'm SO glad The Outsider wasn't a permanent new style. Worst electronica album ever. If you could consider it one.
