although i find Nuane to be like twice as good as any other track on Chiastic. Autechre has never been that epic and emotional, not before and not ever since. its probably my favorite ae track of all time besides Surripere

Too bad the madness at the beginning doesn't last 13 minutes.

lool I actually like pule, it the perfect creamy middle right betwixt Recury and Nuane

Not a bad track at all and a good breather between those two. It just doesn't quite compare to the rest of a brilliant album. Probably the closest to a perfect album I have ever heard.

Pule is genius. The bassline is like neverending and beautiful beats while the melody slowly takes you onto cloud nine as the track progresses. I adore how Autechre simply mutes the beats and lets the melody finish a few songs, like on Cichli, Pule and Nuane.

Complete agreement, except for the Surripere part, that track does nothing for me.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

- lost cloud

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

-organized confused project

I agree with you, GB3: Nuane is emotionally effective! Every time I listen to this very track, I picture myself some Sherlock Holmes cartoon because that repetitive melody.

Too..... Too-too-too-TOO.................................too-too-TOO!

Complete agreement, ESPECIALLY for the Surripere part, that track does EVERYTHING for me.

I guess? I'd divide Cipater, if I could, and put the first half where it is on the list and the second half at the end. Or maybe before Hub. Hubbububbubub

(Bob Wilson) Sorry... you created that reality tunnel, you can find your way out... You built the Trap... you know the design better than anyone...sagatsfz3stage.jpg

its sounds like a visceriod crawling over the circuit board. I'd say it's one of the best ae songs: Rettic AC

Then right behind it Recury and Calbruc. The rest is also ok.

Megabump. Here's my list/review:

Cichli - Classic example of a perfect Ae track. The melody is so saturated with emotion that it pours into every nook and cranny of the jagged, fragmented structure of beats that climb up and down like a hectic ocean tide.

Pule - A complex line of notes explore a vast new terrain, rising and falling wherever the trail takes it. It all culminates with a beautiful utopia, teeming with rich, alien biology. I get serious goosebumps imagining this.

Cipater - Incredible opening to the album. A rigid, mechanical rhythm sparks away until, after it is ingested by a biological force, it turns into a living thing. The sheer scale of this structural metamorphosis is an amazing example of Ae's musical ability.

Nuane - An epic closer to an epic album. A great density of raw emotion builds, then slowly thins out until nothing but radioactive chatter can be heard. While this gradual thinning out is certainly inspired, I do find the eight or so minutes of decay to be rather dull.

Tewe - A haunting roam through a twilight jungle.

Recury - Countless images can be seen as the building blocks of Recury repeatedly explode. Icebergs falling apart, rockets catapulting into space, bodyslams hitting hard against the ground, clouds of glitter with a piercing shine.

Rettic AC - Exquisite use of white noise, with a dense network of careful tweaks and perfectionist details that only Ae are capable of crafting. The melody that pokes through the noise like a bright light carries so much atmosphere, putting me in mind of a beautiful landscape.

Calbruc - Fairly rudimentary for Ae's standards, but still enjoyable.

Hub - For me, this track doesn't really stand up to the high standard set by Chiastic Slide.

1. Pule [ask me about my obsession]

2. Nuane [every sound here works together. perfectly. and truly their finest example of 'decay' in the ending. Whenever I hear Yuop I just think of the masterful ending to Nuane and lament that it didn't receive the same drawn-out treatment.]

3. Cipater [love the progression! damn fine slice of autechre]

4. Rettic Ac [very powerful once it clicked with me. walking in SNOW]

5. Cichli [one of their most 'innocent' melodies]

6. Tewe [shit gets tribal. love it]

7. Hub

8. Recury

9. Calbruc [poor calbruc. its not bad. but towards the bottom of most lists]
