couple of awkward tracks

culled these two tracks (and some others) from my new ep entitled 'awakened' (coming soonish). i just couldn't get these trks right and thereofre couldn't justify them being on there. so i post these as rejected tracks to maybe give an idea of where the ep was going. criticism is definetely welcome.

no titles only numbers/takes

this one i like but couldn't get the piano right and decided it wasn't really good enough. i've covered the ground better on another track. i think realised when i was making it too, check the end sample.

this one i realized i only liked the ending, so its scrapped.

can't wait for awakaned if this brace are cast-offs.

a whole new sound from the pimpmaster p.

and shit is it good.

if 0327.6_take1 is a sign of things to come, then 2006 is goin to be one awkward year.

The break in the first track is class! Where are the vocals from? The ones going "Go go, I'm waiting"?

Melodies are great aswell plus the beat is nice and trip-hop-kinda-like...

The beat on the other track is really nice aswell and those are some awesome vocals!

I thought it was gonna be a chilled track when it first started out but I was proven wrong... you should make another version where you change the drums into something a bit more dub or chill-out-like because the melodi seems to done...

very nice. the beginning of 4 is disorienting, but the elements combined form a really dope groove. man, this is such a fresh sound, i'm excited to hear the finished ep. the sounds are very smooth and clean, yet there is so much happening, that's what i love the most about it.

right off the bat, i love 6. great choice of samples, good flow. i agree with squee, however. the drums seem like they could use more attention. i can imagine both of these tracks being salvaged somehow in the future, they have some great moments.

to be honest, i didnt really think much of either of them.. accept for the last part/ending of the second track.

I didn't like the first one to be honest, but the drum work is pukka as usual..

i liked the 1st more than the 2nd (mainly cuz i thought the drums were pretty weak on the 2nd) all your samples are top notch....really well combined n such....i don't really see any problems with the 1st....maybe just more postproduction to get stuff to stand out more.....i liked all the melodic elements of the 2nd just thought the drums didnt fit and the beat felt way too rigid. the jazzy feel is really tight, specially over the hiphop beats on the 1st tune....

i think you need beefier drums.. like.. more bassy and dirty kick drums and a cool snappy snare.. i dunno...

the singing samples are cool tho.

say what? i can't figure out if what your saying is good or bad.

I like these alot, late night jazzy samples and subtle breakments. Good use of samples, reminds me abit of Jack Dangers.

i like the first one best.... more fluid beats, nice production and feel in both tho
