pylonbitch
don't agree. my behringer 1604 serves me way better than my spirit folio ever did. the faders are better, the fidelity is pretty good. gets a bit crackly, but nothing that a screwdriver and some judiscious isopropyl won't cure. nothing but compliments for their budget range. just don't take it on tour. edit: actually, i didn't read the last line of cma's post. he's bang on. get a cheap mackie. Guest rex sole
Get a cheap Mackie (Tapco is the budget Mackie range, isn't it?) and avoid Behringer like the plague. False economy there. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/30831-behringer-bcf2000/#findComment-655967 Share on other sites

Guest 277: 930-933
Behringer's midi controllers are just fine, people saying 'avoid behringer like the plague' are doing so because they saw other people do it. Of course other controllers have a nicer feel to them but it;s midi for god's sake, it's not going to influence your sound. They also did a compressor that was pretty decent, personally I'd stay the fuck away from their mixers and fx processors though. Guest rex sole
As the person who said 'avoid Behringer like the plague' I'd like to clarify that I suggest avoiding Behiringer like the plague not because it's popular on the internets to say avoid Behringer like the plague but because the equipment they sell is pretty darn shoddy and not worth spending your cash on when for a little bit extra you could get yourself something that has been manufactured to less awful quality standards, which when it comes to music technology is really quite important. And I'd also like to cover my ass a bit by admitting that I misread and thought mixers were being discussed rather than midi controllers, which are a bit less worth getting hung up on quality about. Still a bit nasty, but if the price is right we shall dine on Tesco's 2 for £5 chickens tonight! Guest analogue wings
I have both a Behringer mixer (which is shit) and a BCR2000. The BCR is more than capable of what I bought it for and is of surprisingly solid construction. It feels very weighty and you wouldn't worry about it sliding around on you during a gig cos it's a hollow plastic box. Brandi_B
I think it's a good buy. The only complaint i've ever had about behringer is their audio mixers are a bit noisy (channel bleed). I gave a local club hell a couple years ago for buying a behringer mixer as their main house mixer saying that it would break but its still alive and kicking and i have my foot in my mouth, but I'll still warn that behringer products aren't exactly built like tanks and can break easily. But if you're gentle and put it in a case while traveling you should be alright. I will say this thing feels decently built though. Better than the behringer guitar pedals and some of their rack units. Behringer quality in my experience can be hit or miss. I'd never buy a mixer of theirs but something like this I would buy if I was in need. I used one of these at a friends studio and it was a delight. Couldn't believe the price for it. He had two linked together, I don't know if you can do more but i know you can at least expand one to two and use it in a link mode. You can also send midi to it and control the lights from your sequencer and make fun little patterns. For 200 bucks retail it has a great feature list: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « * Total recall cascadable desktop MIDI controller with analog feel and an intuitive user interface * 8 -100mm motorized faders for ultimate control of virtual mixes, organ-drawbars (inverse mode), or virtual synths and samplers * 4 virtual groups with 8 dual-mode, high-resolution encoders that feature LED rings and additional push function * 16 + 4 illuminated buttons freely assignable manually or via user-friendly learn mode * Additional multifunction footswitch and footcontroller connectors for MIDI input * 32 user presets each with 4 encoder groups * Configurable MIDI and USB modes for ultra-flexible system integration * 1 MIDI In plus 2 MIDI Outs, usable as an additional USB to MIDI interface * Multifunction 4-digit LED display with realtime parameter indication plus write-in fields for your own labeling * MIDI Input with merge function for cascading several control units * Easy connection to any computer/expander etc. using MIDI * Generic USB MIDI support with WindowsXP and MAC OS X * Additional drivers and editor/librarian available soon on Behringer's website * High-quality components and exceptionally rugged construction for long life and durability Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/30831-behringer-bcf2000/#findComment-656776 Share on other sites

ten fingers ten toes
Yah I have a BCR2000, and it has more endless rotary encoders than god. I don't even really know what to do with about half of them.
