Guest Idrn
been having some trouble with my brothers new drum kit. basically the modules sounds are obviously shite so i hooked the midi out into a edirol UA-8 audio/midi doodah. now i know there is lag when things are too cpu intensive and this can be rectified by changing the buffering etc... but there was a 500ms or so delay from the hit and just a single sound being triggered in battery, hardly rinsing my resources. really frustrating because i had all these big plans for setting up envelope/midisequence triggering super kits, the soundcard is also asio - so i dont know how i can rectify this other than upgrading from my 2ghz, 1gb ram (which i cant even guarantee will make a difference). anyone got any suggestions? pylonbitch
try midi-ing it up to a keyboard or something not pc native to see if you get any lag there. if so, drumkit problem. if not, audio pc problem. that might help a bit with your troubleshooting. if it's your pc, and you can use other kinds of midi triggers with full success, i'd check all of te midi settings in the kit module. what kind of kit is it? make sure you're using asio... i know you said you were, but check. pylonbitch
when you strike the kit does it just output a midi note/vel/pb etc? does it register in your midi software that the kit has been struck before it produces a sound?
