Pretty cheap! Does not say what condition it is in though... I already own 3 copies, the regular version (in this ad) a White Label version, and a different Warp released promo version with Info sheet.

I'm pretty lucky to own the CD. I ordered the 12" 10 years ago or so off Warpmart and was pretty surprised to receive the CD instead. They must have ran out of the 12's and had it laying around.

I bought the GAK CD and a µ-Ziq CD single off of eBay about 5 or 6 years ago for $20 shipped, and they were both brand new unopened. I traded the CD for the vinyl version + HAB1, and I regret doing that to this day, I loved that CD.

The GAK CD is worth far, far more than any vinyl versions of it. Also pressed in far fewer quantities than the vinyl version.

Hmmm... I don't recall it being shrink wrapped. It was so long ago I don't remember, however I'm sure I would have done the same as you and just slit the top.

Probably. I bought mine on eBay so I could have easily been duped. It does appear in excellent shape, but that doesn't mean someone slid some wrapping over the top... :undecided:

I haven't - first off, that would have betrayed the trust placed in me in the first place. Still have my BoC Maxima cassette too... I only got rid of things I felt OK with selling.

Gosh... probably some of my Japanese versions of Aphex and Squarepusher releases, my Bradley's Robot vinyl, my Digeridoo CD (which Nacmat now owns, rare as fuck), GAK, and probably some others if I thought about it long enough.

That's the funny thing - Words & Music was a promo CD, but because it was put out by Warner US, there's more copies of it than actual releases of PowerPill, GAK and Digeridoo. Warner was big upping Richard at that time to sell SAW II so I bet there was a 3-5000 print run of Words & Music. Just guesses, of course.

From what I've heard, early WARP releases ranged in 1000-3000 copies, and the smaller labels, like Fffreeedom and R&S, probably put out 1000-1500 max of those releases.

Honestly though, you wonder how many copies are still in existence. How many copies are even still playable, let alone being able to track them down. That's why they fetch ridiculously high prices.
