Guest smbUP
this warm, full bass sound in fenix funk 5 (at 2:12-2:40 for example), W32.Mydoom.AU@mm (at the end solo) and in VBS.Redlof.B (at the beginning and over the whole track) sounds so fucking cool. how do you call such a bass? does anyone know which equipment richard used for it? is it possible to recreate it in Reason or Reaktor 5 for example? xy_politics
I would say it's a Pulse-Width oscillator with a small amount of envelope on the LPF - many VSTi synths have this kind of oscillator. Maybe Noise/EOD would be able to point you in the right direction, he's a member here. Check out one of his tracks, which has a very close-sounding bass synth. Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio tag EOD - The Underhall Stations Warning - this is a seriously, seriously great track. impakt
It's a simple pulse-width patch like xy_politics says, you can make it like this: take a two-osc synth and set one to pulse-width and the other to saw. Put the pulse-width down one octave. Set it in unison mode, set the unison-detune to around 20% and push the unison spread up to around 60% A:0% D:35% S:35% R:0% Then put some modulation on the LPF or do it manually and finally you run it through a slight dose of spring-reverb(some delay is nice too) Voila, analord bass. chim
Yeah it's a pulse with some tweaking on the filter attack or something i think, if you'd make it in reason. I haven't been using my music progs for a while but that's how i think it was done. i could try and see if i could replicate it on the subtractor.. For Reaktor, Dude there's some bass on the Junatik that sounds almost exactly like that if you want that sound.
