I doubt it.

BoC on "Geogaddi":

Mike: It's a combination of different words, there are a few different meanings you can take from it. We have our own meaning and we want the listener to make up his or her own meaning. It's more personal that way.

It has also been suggested that it is (in part) a reference to the Gaddi people of India:

  Wikipedia said:
The Gaddis are a tribe hailing from the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. They are Hindus and belong to several castes including Brahmin, Rajput, Dhangar, Khatri, Rana and Thakur. They are widely respected for their honesty, friendliness and peaceful lifestyle. Crime is almost unknown in Gaddi villages.

geo - the earth, gad - runs wild, di - two, twice.

some think this is the most accurate. but who knows either than the brothers and possibly a few close friends?

So just go along with what Mike said and take your own meaning.

I think that the whole album is kind of a statement that mathematics is everywhere, including religion. Koresh took all the numbers in the bible literally and tried to figure things out that way, perhaps this is another reason why his mention was in geogaddi.

BoC are fans of the Incredible String Band, so possible the name of the album was inspired by it.

Yep.

What are they that are but one?

We have one God alone

In heaven above sits on His throne.

What are they which are by two?

Two testaments, the old and new,

We do acknowledge to be true.

What are they which are but three?

Three persons in the Trinity

Which make one God in unity.

What are they which are but four

Four sweet Evangelists there are,

Christ's birth, life, death which do declare.

What are they which are but five?

Five senses, like five kings, maintain

In every man a several reign.

What are they which are but six?

Six days to labor is not wrong,

For God himself did work so long.

What are they which are but seven?

Seven liberal arts hath God sent down

With divine skill man's soul to crown.

What are they which are but eight?

Eight Beatitudes are there given

Use them right and go to heaven.

What are they which are but nine?

Nine Muses, like the heaven's nine spheres,

With sacred tunes entice our ears.

What are they which are but ten?

Ten statutes God to Moses gave

Which, kept or broke, do spill or save.

What are they which are but eleven?

Eleven thousand virgins did partake

And suffered death for Jesus' sake.

What are they which are but twelve?

Twelve are attending on God's son;

Twelve make our creed. The Dial's done.

it's "geography"... put simply, some, even i, used to do with the word "geography" as a kid, before we knew how to pronounce it or knew what it meant. true.

i like that

i'd rather think for myself than be beat over the head with messages in music

I had a dream I bought Geogaddi, and it looked kinda like this:

http://That Other Site™.com/discography/release/38...emixed-wap94cdr

But it had 2 discs, Geogaddi on the first one, and the bonus Japanese track all by itself on the second one.
