kaen
listen out for unusual repetitive noises, try stealthing it and just hanging out around lots of people, its amazing what you can catch. also, cool noises in industrial parks near power stations or anything with huge machinery Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide kaen's signature Hide all signatures trumps toe fungus Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/31853-field-recording-places/#findComment-679100 Share on other sites

Guest Adjective
favorite place is a park with a large kids play area, wooded large public places without background music sometimes at ihop late at night, the smoking section has some unusual conversations to capture. camp grounds Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/31853-field-recording-places/#findComment-680388 Share on other sites

goffer
recording people when they havent a clue... the headphone technique always works well. my mp3 player has a built in mic and records in 16bit wav and i got a lot of funny/cool/crunch samples with it. got one of my girlfriend talking about bagels and lox for about 15 minutes. i played it for her on the ride home. it was good fun. i went on a binge one weekend recording wind chimes with my r-09... i get weak at the knees with wind chimes. Guest Iain C
I live very close to the Greenwich foot tunnel:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwich_foot_tunnel It's almost 400 feet long, cylindrical, tiled... in other words the acoustics are totally unique and any sound you make down there sounds like dripping liquid ambient gold. I've taken countless recordings there. So, try a tunnel!
