Right, thought id bend your ears with a question.

I'm looking for a rackmount mixer to add to my setup - but i really want one with sliders for volume control (knobs get too fiddlly for me).

Have you guys got any suggestions? The most available seem to be behringers, but i'm never quite too sure about those...

PS - this mixer is gonna sit under my new S1100 sampler :P yeah!!!

how many channels do you need? eq?

alesis makes a good value mixer, the 12R: 3U rackmount, 12 channels with 2x aux, 8 preamps and sheving EQ

if mackie is out of your price range, then get a yamaha.

yamaha's rackmount mixers are bulky and pricy, easily four times the price of the alesis for the same amount of channels (you do get nicer eq and cleaner preamps for that money).

mackie sells rackmount brackets for their mixers but you'll have to sacrifice at least 8U of space then(for the small models like the 1204 and 1404 vlz)

oops sorry didn't catch the part about it having to be rackmount. in that case, alesis gets a vote from me too. my old desktop mixer is alesis and i just love its sound.
