Guest Diao
Ok here is the deal. I've got a 12 channel Behringer mixer, and the bastard is noisy as hell. It has no busses, so I have no options for routing, blah blah blah, its shit. I've wanted to get a fairly decent 16 channel analog mixer for my schtuff. Here are my requirements: SLIDERS: I hate having stupid ass knobs to control my volume, makes it tough to fade two tracks in and out equally. BUSSES: I need to have at least 2 effects send to process reverb and distortion and whatnot. LED SIGNAL MONITORS: It sounds silly, I know, but I would like to have LEDs that show the volume of the master mix. So far I have looked at a Mackie 1604 and a Tascam M1516. The Makcie seems to be pretty standard, and is easily obtainable. The Tascam I can get for much cheaper, and from what I've heard, they have much more headroom. Plus, the Tascam also has LEDs to moniter the busses return volume. Any advice here is greatly appreciated. Paulie Walnuts
I use a little Mackie 1402-VLZ which is great 6 mono channels (or 3x stereo) and 4 stereo channels (can be used as 4 mono) 2x aux sends (mono sends, stereo/mono returns) Good metering... Headroom is great, very clear, low noise, EQ sounds much nicer than you'd expect too, although limited, fixed 3-band: hi, mid, low I've got an 8-buss as well, but I use the little one more often when I'm writing and getting ideas together... Like it a lot... Braintree
I have a Mackie Micro 1202. I love it, and it's perfect for what I work with. You might want to look into a Carvin. Those are really nice, and not expensive for the quality. Guest Diao
I think I am going to go with the Tascam. On the 1516 it also has 8 RCA I/O on the first 8 channels that are for linking it up to an 8 track recorder, which is PERFECT :omg: for what I'm wanting to do. Thanks for the hlep, gentlemen.
