FL Tech Help Please

so i've long stopped using fruity loops. i really want to go back and take some synth melodies and chords and stuff from my old songs but the thing is, this DXi synth Dreamstation, which was my primary synth for years, bugged out and won't load. I get a message that says:

"something went wrong loading the plugin. please make sure it's installed and doesn't need to be registered."

it's in the fruity plugin folder, and i've added it in the plugins list. it's installed properlly, i believe. i just can't figure this one out. i've been asking some image-line forum techies, the ones that work for image-line, and they try to help, but nothing they've said works. i even went a got FL 7 (i had 4) and i get the same message. every other plugin i have works, and nothing else seems to be wrong with FL.

if anyone has any ideas i'd really really appreciate it, i need this music bad in order to write some new stuff. thanks

if i'm not wrong dreamsynth it's a Cakewalk product right?

uninstall it.

or,if neded,uninstall Sonar that seems to contain it.

ok so go in the Winzozz start menu and click on "execute", then type : regedit.

when you're there,you will see a tree with many folders,expand :

HKEY_CURRENT USER

HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE

HKEY_USERS

open the relatives "Software" folders.

find and kill every Dreamsynth or Cakewalk entry (folder)

YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY CAREFUL,if you have any kind of doubt about deleting something,make a screenshoot or post me in private.

if you do something wrong you could fuckup your system.

after this mess,reinstall your synth from scratch.

good for you that isn't a cakewalk's one,i find all their products amazingly poor sounding.

mmm,so you uninstalled it completely..

do you have some 3rd party DXi wrapper or at least the fruity one? if the host returns you

an error,there must be still some trace of that synth somewhere in the system.

try going in control panel,folder options : enable hidden files and folders. do a .dll search then,see if something come out.
