Actually, an announcement that BoC will not be releasing/will hold back new material because of something said on this forum would have been a much greater April Fools prank.

I wonder what they think of all the fake announcements. Regardless of it being April Fools' Day. I'd reckon they must think it's as stupid as all the "what cereals do they eat"-threads.

 

And especially if it comes from the admin of one of the most well known electronic music-boards on the internets. Especially if its posted on the main page.

 

Joyrex asked me if I wouldn't do it if I were in his same elite position of being acquainted with the Hexagon Sun collective. Well I wouldn't. I'm not personally affiliated with them in any way, but I do host davidac's discontinued boc pages and at least I have the decency to not spread false information, wether or not it's April Fools' Day. It's just plain stupid to pick on this theme again and again and again...

What's the most pathetic: people making the same joke over and over again or people falling into the same trap over and over again; that's a very thin line you've got there nowadays.

 

You want this forum to be a normal and a pleasant stay, how can it be if even the admin crosses the boundaries? He knew beforehand by posting this false announcement that he'd provoke yet another internet drama. But he didn't refrain from making the announcement. It's just plain stupid imo.

I took the piss, had a laugh, and never realized how seriously a bunch of sad fucks would take it - I don't like the useless threads either, but like all forums, you just have to separate the wheat from the chaff and digest the good bits. I don't think they (Hex Sun/BoC) read it, but I could be wrong. I think the only good thing about BoC releasing something this year is that it would produce threads worthy of reading here. I like what they've put out enough to enjoy it for the rest of my life.

i only read the first post, but i'll say this!

i think there's so little material released by boards of canada is because everything they do release is so incredibly bound to the 'boards of canada sound'. and they wanna keep that.

for me, the most un'boc'-y song (other than their early early stuff) would probably be xyz. it's full of fast electronic music beats and psychadelic guitars you totally wouldn't expect from the duo. and when they released the peel session as an EP, they left the track off.

i dunno, that's just how i see it. i'm sure theymake alot of tunes between the two of them, but only release something when it has the same quality and will have the same kind of impact as their previous stuff.

Does anyone here really think that BoC care what some idiots on this forum think? Even some of WATMM's own members aren't that bothered by similar comments, and we very rarely actually say things like "I hate BOC!".

 

BoC don't spend much time on the internet, and they really enjoy making music. Do you really think they would stop doing it, just to get back at someone on the internet asking what kind of shoes they where??

 

If you saw a comment on YouTube saying things similar to what we say about BoC, would you give up something you love doing, just to annoy them? BoC are a lot more mature than the people who say this crap. They are not going to deliberately piss off their entire fanbase by giving up making/releasing music to piss off one WATMM/Twoism troll.
