Cubase as midi slave?

Recommended Posts

i want to use my TR-707 midi out to trigger Cubase . i've tried about every setting with no results. i think i read somewhere that this was possible in earlier versions of cubase. i'm currently using Cubase SX3. any hope?

should be possible. i know it's possible two run two separate pc's, both running cubase with one master and one slave with a midi connection.

you need to set your midi clock to external, and set cubase to accept start/stop midi commands.

why not just slave the drumbox to cubase?

should be fine with sx3 too.

'cause then i wouldn't be able to jam with my setup when the computer's turned off. i'm tired of switching midi connections
