Global Goon Chimay 10" Single

Up on Weme's main page, praise god!

So I just got this today, and I have to say it sounds absolutely nothing like Goon. It's straight Acid Techno. Chimay Rouge(B) is better than Chimay Bleue(A) IMO. Chimay Bleue sounds like anyone could have done it... the only thing I can sort out that’s different about it is that it has some little piano riffs underneath the 303 gurgling... but other than that it's a very average track, and one I would never think was goon. Chimay Rouge on the other hand has the most stomping Bass he's probably ever done, and some good ol synth stabs high and low. Then finally as a slight reassurance goon isn't completely dead... he has some of his classic vocoder modulations underneath it all. Between this little 10 inch, his tracks up on his Myspace(which seem official) and Bessemer Cocktail. It seems like he has absolutely no intention of going back to where he once was.

God damn. I would love to order some of WeMe's records but the exchange rate and shipping make it horrendously expensive.

Your honestly not missing much. But it is a nice little collectors gem. I can't wait for the 12'' heres hoping it will be more goonish and less acidish.
