Guest Laughable Butane Bob
I have a standard rig. It is 2 Mackie 800W subs, and 2 15" monitors. I can run a small club, or a large warehouse. I have also run it in a field off a generator and did fine on 3500W for a number of hours. Guest Laughable Butane Bob
500W-600W of sub is minimum for clear bass. Over 1000W split between 2 boxes and you can get clear with punch. Having 2 subs is really the key, to get loud you will always overload a single sub and that's when you start losing the clean bass sound. 2x15" monitors are also needed. Anything decent will do as highs and mids will carry through any room with less than a 30 foot ceiling. You would be surprised at how little you need to fill a 200 person venue with sound. Go to shows and ask around, second hand PA equipment is where it's at.
