ten fingers ten toes
The look completely puts me off. I don't care if it was a GX-1 in a circle I wouldn't want that in my studio. ascdi
i had one. didn't really like it. the sound was kinda thin and piercing, and the sequencer (despite what others may say) was pretty dumb. perunamuusi
yeah i dont really get how the circle thing is supposed to help. they claim it's circular sequencer is a more natural way to perceive cyclic repetition (makes sense so far) but in reality a horizontal step sequencer is far easier to understand at a glance than that silly circle thing. i want a 777 Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/33591-future-retro-revolujtion/#findComment-716727 Share on other sites

enki
The interface is gay. I dicked around with one for about 3 minutes at 5G in Tokyo and thought it sounded pretty bad.. Didn't like the feel of the knobs, either. Brandi_B
i liked the 777 better. BUt both the revolution and 777 are fantastic machines if you can find them at decent prices. The new XS looks good too. semi modular. Though for $1,300 a 4 pole filter would be a nice addition, even tho the included 2 pole has low pass, band pass, high pass, and notch. From the demos its a good filter so not much to complain about. Guest cyphersum
I just got my XS and it's an incredible sounding monosynth with awesome modular routings. I was thinking of getting the FR Mobius for additional sequencing but for a bit more the Revolution R2 adds a TBesque synth in addition to its sequencing abilities. Here's an short example of the XS being sequenced by the MPC straight into soundcard. No over dubs, No effects, just straight up XS. http://www.box.net/shared/nf92w3sows Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/33591-future-retro-revolujtion/#findComment-719132 Share on other sites

Five Step Path
lol, don't wana sound like a total ass but I don't like the retro revolujtions design at all. I just find it unnecessary. I like it simple and to the point. As it stands, it's just an okay clone with a gimmicky interface and terrible ergonomics. ten fingers ten toes
Really it looks to me like it should come from a box with 1980's style wireframe grids all over it with "LASERTRON!!!!!!!!" in metallic block lettering on the cover. Throw in two children sitting next to it on the floor pretending to dodge crudely draw laser beams coming from the circle and it's complete.
