did you know that the recently free-ed slaves in New Orleans in the early 1900s created the beginings of jazz music from the instruments the WHITE American Soldiers were selling /pawning /giving away as they came home from the Spanish Ameican War?

They called it "JASS" at first and supposedly it was music THAT WAS SPECIFICLY CREATED FOR SEXY BLACK WOMEN TO STRIP TO

The band was usually behind a curtain and unseen save for a shadow

I never knew any of this until recently.Pardon my ignorance,

it blows my mind that jazz was midwifed by a military initiative[a colonial one at that] utilizing a GERMAN instrument [sAX}

it is akin to the US NUKEING THE JAPANESE and then ROLAND and AKAI /KORG et all rising from the ashes in the early 70s like a fucking PHEONIX made of electrodes and capacitors

gave it as listen as i'm always up for some good freejazz..

but i didn't really like it, it didn't have the crazy energy and sick sounds that i enjoy in free jazz music like peter brotzmann's or ornette coleman's stuff..

it didn't go anywhere, didn't explode in some crazy frenzy and didn't build up/down either.. watch the piano volume by the way, it seemed to clip quite a few times.. overall it sounded like a parody on freejazz or some shit..
