its pretty outstanding. i dunno how the audiophiles feel about it, but cubase simply doesnt have routing options liek this in terms of getting that 'synth over kick drum sound', which is important esp for club tracks.

mmm, i think ther's some vst compressors who have sidechaining options

mmmm, to be honest i don't know any, i just suposed there was some, cause you know, reason's compressor has it, you put the compressor on the synth, then it has a line in where you plug the kick and it crushes the synth sound when the kick gets in.

I actually have some VSTs that do sidechaining, and I used them in Ableton before they got this built in sidechaining... I must say the routing for the VSTs was really complicated and annoying (it took me like 25 minutes to figure it out), but once I got it to work it was quite nice.

And actually, to be honest, I think it sounds a lot better than Ableton's built in sidechaining... It might just be that I didn't spend enough time figuring out the sidechaining in Ableton, but the VST I have seems to work better. Maybe I'm just being stubborn because I spent so much time figuring that out, and the built in one is too easy haha, but who knows.

If anyone is interested, here is the link for it: http://www.geocities.jp/webmaster_of_sss/vst/#sidech
