Slow tuss

Just wanna say i'm now enjoying Rushup Edge @ 33RPM. The vinyls are 12" designed to be played @ 45 RPM, but there is a lot of smile-shaped details when slow down. For those who don't have the vinyls, there is an option to change the speed from 45 to 33 in audacity

My cat really loves the fat bass, but it is maybe because i make him smoke some marijuana when he was younger

voila

Yes I agree! I lot of the more moody sounding Aphex is great slowed down, much of ICBYD is. Have you tried Mt St Michels slowed down? It's awesome! So many details...

Hmm, also picking up some very latent acid riffs at 5:00 or something, but I like it better at its normal speed, it's badass y0.

Can't we just take it for granted that just about anything sounds interesting either sped up, slowed down, played backwards, or any combination thereof? Apple should put out a special edition WATMM iPod with a pitch wheel and super-reverso switch so that you stalwart sonic adventures can tease out the mind-bending details hidden inside otherwise mundane tracks.

Agreed...

...also about listening to tracks at different speeds, you always seem to learn something new or pick something else out about a track when doing this

I did this a lot with Windowlicker. If you want to go right away to the fleshy beats tryMi−1 = −αΣn=1NDi[n][Σj∈C{i}Fji[n − 1] + Fexti[n−1]]"

or the [equation] track. Brings good memories...

I prefer 45rpm and then pitch adjusted down by 17%

I've fucked around with pitch as long as I've had a computer but I haven't felt as strongly about anything as much as I do about Rushup Bank.

Here it is from the vinyl at 33 + 12% and piped into the PC computah

Woah you're right - that is good. If you chucked in some brick wall mastering and some saturation on the drums (or used a more electro-sounding kit) that could practically fit on a conventional dance floor....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

I didn't see why Horsey Noises was extremely like Tuss but yeah if that were pitch-shifted down instead of slowed down conventionally it would be pig dync

regular rushup is too orange though

33 RPM is good but I like it at 33 and then pitch adjusted up by 12%. It's like a porridge--just right. There is heavier bass response, the incredible detail in the rhythm gets center stage but the real star is "that one synth". Everyone knows the one, the thick analogue strings that first start at 1:57 and could rip your heart out through your asshole. Somehow, they're even more lush and devastating than before.

I disagree that everything sounds interesting at different pitches/reversed/stereo removed/etc. I've fucked around with pitch as long as I've had a computer but I haven't felt as strongly about anything as much as I do about Rushup Bank.

Is this an Aphex thing? Because I prefer Arched maid Via RDJ at 33 rather that 45.

*plays all aphex @33rpm*
