i am looking for a free version of something like intakt

i don't even know what you call this software. maybe sampler? but i want a decent free vst that can basically take a wav and split it across a keyboard. with some built in effects if possible. i really like the built in live sampler and simpler but i'm moving away from live a little and back into buzz (scrap the last year). i could crack intakt again but i think there must be a decent free version out there, i mean its hardly rocket science.

as a former cubase only user ive always been shocked at the defecit of decent, simple programs like this.
