Guest Vegeta897
Either you guys will think this is kind of neat or call me a noob. I've always loved designing synths, midi interfaces, effects units, etc. etc., I used to sketch them all the time in school. I'm a pixel artist and so for the first time I made one with pixel art. In MS-Paint, which is the only tool I use. I do smoothing of lines and curves by hand, manually selecting blend colors, without any sort of photoshop tools. I guess I'm sort of known for the amount of detail and attention to detail I put into my work. Well, enough backstory. I made a sort of 'ultimate groovebox' which is heavily based on the emx/esx. And here's a 2x scaled version to see the detail easier: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/4306/ul...groove2xtr9.png As a point of interest to those who I've shared this with who don't know what a groovebox is, I made a timelapse video documenting nearly all of the creation, direct screenshots of my screen. Around 25 hours of work in the video, compressed to about 10 minutes. Complete with my own music too, heh. So err, what do you guys think. enki
Yeah, that video is pretty badass. Shoulda watched it before I left my snarky comment. That technique of making watercolor-esque color swatches looks quite interesting. Ahh, MS Paint. Guest Vegeta897
I guess I should have made some analog modular device if I wanted the watmm vote. I'm glad you find the video interesting though, thanks for watching it. Guest Rook
I like my monomachine. I just wish I could have more than one polyphonic synth at once. And maybe an easier to work and more versatile reverb. awepittance
so is this a usable plugin ? when can i use it, i like how it looks edit: so wait you just made a GUI for a non existent software? besides that being an excerise in aesthetic masturbation do you plan on making it into a real plugin eventually? Aesthetic masturbation, that's it I mean, the fact that it's art doesn't mean anything. Who in their right mind would bother making something if it doesn't have a purpose? That's fucking ridiculous. What the hell is the 'Your Latest Creations' forum for by the way? Just a bunch of masturbation. Honestly, you're way below the bar in your watmm criticism ability. I'm almost disappointed. If I knew how to make a plugin I'd do it. And if I was making a plugin I wouldn't make the GUI in ms paint. Someone with decent skill in photoshop could make the exact same thing I did but better looking in 1/10th of the time. Guest Vegeta897
Well I'm sorry for getting mad too. "and being ignorant to a culture of people who design GUIS and synth cases that are non usable " Ah we're back to the ridiculous attempts at wit.. I enjoy designing synths. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I enjoy pixel art. I KNOW I'm not the only one. I don't see what's so wrong with this, besides posting in a forum section where most people expect VSTs, I guess. Whatever man. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/34041-ug-1-ultimate-groovebox/#findComment-732519 Share on other sites

awesomeperson
Wow you're certainly dedicated, last time I did pixel art was on the Amiga with Deluxe Paint, I have a ton of floppies with my "work" I doubt any still works but until I get a new Amiga computer I'll be in limbo. As for the groovebox design I have no idea if that would work swell sound wise but I like the design apart from the use of yellow, that would strain your eyes against another primary color (red) normally crystal screens are black with green or blue digits because it enables an easier reading. Heh, thanks. It's based on existing machines though! I don't actually own the emx or esx so I wouldn't know how much of an eye-strain it is :p I just think it looks badass.
