Guest epsy
my sherman filterbank has no switch. you just have to unplug it. on a side note, does leaving discs inside a dvd player or gaming console that uses dvd media ruin the lens over time? I remember the ps2 not being functional until you open the tray, thus giving the impression that leaving games inside it was not a good idea. Guest Laughable Butane Bob
The laser on a PS2 is piss poor. Don't learn any lessons from the PS2 other than, don't buy a PS2. Guest Tamas
Just like with any other audio equipment that does have a switch, turning the volume to zero is always a good thing... Basically, you want to minimize any electrical surge within the circuit, and while it's more likely to damage the electronics when plugging it back in, it's a good habit to get into even when turning it off. Also, if you have the device drawing a lot of power when plugging in/unplugging, electricity could arc on the plug, causing it to burn, which over time can make the connection shittier, but that could be fixed with some sand paper... Guest Drahken
Get a rack mount power unit and plug your gear into that, can just switch the power unit off and not have to hassle with the plugs. Guest greenbank
i got one of those big multi-way adapters with individual switches - well handy if you have a bunch of DC adapters to plug into stuff; you can click them all off easily and not waste the watts keeping the power bricks toasty-warm all the time. Amen Warrior
Thanks for the advice fellas Why don't they just put fucking off switches on their gear if its bad for it? Or do they expect never to turn them off...
