ryancolecreate
Has anyone had to deal with this? I've got a Korg MS2000 in the states but I want to bring it back here this summer. I plan on finding someone to trade it for the rack version, but I'd like to know how it can be done. Checking a synth or other piece of gear makes me nervous as hell, and you can only take so many things on board. Also will i get stopped by customs and have to pay taxes? cause that'd suck nizzuts. enki
Unless you've got a flight case for it that probably cost more than the synth itself, I'd question whether or not it'd really be worth it to haul something as bulky as the MS2000 on a trans-atlantic flight. I hauled two Roland System 100M modules to Japan a coupla months ago and it was almost more trouble than it was worth (almost). I ended up carrying them back in my carry-on because I was so paranoid about the baggage handlers. Much better to find some chump, er, I mean, "fellow enthusiast" to pawn it off on here in the states, especially if you're just looking to trade it anyway. ryancolecreate
well I bought it for 400 US and here they can sell for as much as 500 euro, so if I sell it I want to do it here. I really only want to trade it for the rack version so I can just take it in my carry on. That's my plan. I've got a hard case, but that mother fucker weighs like 80 pounds, so fuck that. I have to take it on the train? Hells no. So is it really so hard? I think if I get the smaller version, I can do it pretty easy. If not I might trade it for something else..... any suggestions? I'd like something small that sounds really nice. :) and is about the same value.
