Simple Ableton Live Question

I'm desperate here. I'm the middle of a good 5 hour work flow and all of a sudden i can't automate Operator's pitch. I was recording and using my midi keyboard for a melody, and i was using the pitch bender. the thing is, i can't find the automation for my pitch bending. I can here all my pitch bends, but I need to change some of them, but am unable to find anything that allows me to do this.

I then deleted my take, and recorded again with no pitch bends, and tried to automate using the transpose knob. well that doesn't cut it, because the pitch doesn't bend nicely, it just moves around in half step increments.

any help would be appreciated. sorry if this is a little hard to understand.
