Guest Max
http://www.sensemusic.de/ Inspired by new sounds, new technologies and the political events of the time, the early 90s sees the emergence of a scene that euphorically celebrates the dawning of a new era. In Berlin, Frankfurt and many other German cities, activists tinker on a new music and club culture oriented around the coordinates Techno and House. At Berlin's Love Parade in 1991, different local scenes congregate for the first time. The trend turns into a movement. A German Summer of Love, which changes whole lives overnight and kick-starts careers. The basic principle of Techno stands for experimenting, crossing borders and DIY. Fans become DJs or party promoters. Labels are founded and record stores open up. The scene grows. An independent microcosm is created. Networks are formed away from established structures. For a moment everything seems possible… WE CALL IT TECHNO! tells the story of a tempestuous phase in music history, the first time that pop culture was created significantly in Germany. With exclusive interviews and comprehensive, mostly unreleased film and photo archive material from the years 1988-1993! Incl. Statements from Ata, Cosmic Baby, Mijk van Dijk, Elsa for Toys, Hell, Mike Ink., Jürgen Laarmann, Mark Reeder, Tanith, Triple R, Upstart, Sven Väth, Wolle XDP and many more. No, DVD's are also formatted to NTSC and PAL, in addition to 0,1,2.... region encoding. DVD players need to be compatible with the region number, and televisions need to be compatible with NTSC or PAL. Guest telikan
If you have an NTSC formatted television, it won't display any images that aren't formatted in NTSC, regardless of the input source. I don't think it denotes NTSC or PAL specifically on the site, but I can't imagine it being available in NTSC. The existence of those multi-standard receivers was probably part of the need for region coding of DVDs. As the color signals are component on disc for all display formats almost no changes would be required for PAL DVD players to play NTSC (525/29.97) discs as long as the display was frame-rate compatible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC Im digitalen Bereich, zum Beispiel auf DVDs, bezeichnet NTSC nur mehr das Bildformat von 720 x 480 Bildpunkten bei 29,97 Vollbildern pro Sekunde. Die übrigen oben aufgezählten Eigenschaften sind für digitale Signale nicht mehr relevant. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Tele...stems_Committee also: Pre-order here: Orders within Germany Orders rest of the world i assume they figure what to send according to where you place your order from. Guest Max
so it is PAL only. i'm sorry. so i just asked them and they say they dont even understand why japan and the us are using that very stricted NTSC format. the reason why it is not written at the box is, because it is not actually sold... but as soon as the preorders end and the real shipping starts.. there will be an additional note as well, that it is only shipped with PAL. however... you would be able to watch it in a pc dvd drive or any laptop/notebook anyway. aren't there multiformat dvd players for all sorts of coding on the us market yet ?? Guest telikan
the cheapest one you can get is like $200, and I don't think anybody wants to spend that on a format that's being phased out. especially when the easier work around is stealing the dvd on the internet and converting it to NTSC in the burn. Guest Drahken
Id imagine you could buy it and use DVD Shrink to burn a copy in NTSC. I'm pretty sure shrink lets you switch formats as well as remove region encoding. Thats what I ended up doing with all the japanese anime I bought last time I was over there that didnt play in Region 1.
