it's for a laridae compilation. the rules being that it has to be 'about' mountains, and exactly 3 minutes long.

abrupt ending and pink floyd-esque sound at the end are both intentional, heheh.

i know there are other tracks by that name, but i chose the name after the album that ended up being mark hollis' solo album, which was originally going to be a talk talk release titled 'mountains of the moon'.

yes, you should go ahead and make a longer version of this. the climax at the end is great. other than some stuff being (im assuming) purposefully out of key i loved it all.

like the smashing ner the end of the track.

abrupt ending reminded me of ending of king crimson's red. great work!

maybe i'll do a 'part two' at some stage that just connects on to the end.

thanks, i played all of the instruments except the drums.

how did you get the organ ambient type sound?

in the first half of the track, it was the infector in buzz, on my "pad" preset, through mda leslie vst plugin (available here). in the second half, it was the jeskola organ through the same leslie plugin.

mda stuff is pretty good, check it out. they made a good piano and electric piano too.

lovely production work on the guitars from 1:30 to 2:00. bliss. the ending sounds a bit messy, too much compression (or is it intentional?)

thanks! more coming, the album will have some of this kind of stuff on it, and there will be an EP or two following it. one of which may be an EP of electronic music covers, post-rock style heheh.

Oh my god that end is so frustrating! Hahaha... there's a song on the new Deathcab album that ends like that and it annoys me every time...

I don't think it QUITE works but nearly... close enough anyway...

It's really beautiful on the whole... although the guitar solo thing is more cheesy than pretty so it kinda shifts the mood a bit for the last part. But yeah... really nice track :)
