wow these go together so well! i always thought LCC had a very LP5 vibe but this proves it!

the way ive been doing mashups is with Cooledit, i find the tempo of both songs as closely as i can by doing tap tempo on one of my drum machines, then i divide the tempos with each other. So if one song is 150 and the other is 160, and i want to match it to 160

take 150 / 160 = 0.9375 , then shift the decimal place over by two and use the value 93.75 % as the stretch value. Usually this makes them match up perfectly, but with the Trees + benga mashup i had to do a few manual cuts to make them lineup again after going off synch a tiny bit. There must be an easier way?

well, i dont wanna go into the whole thing

but i use a program called mixmeister

and it allows me to change the tempo w/o changing the pitch

but it has to be within reasonable range or it will sound off

edit: acroyear2 is about 96 bpm and lcc is about 91 so i just set lcc to go at 96

Barring any familiarity with either of these songs, had I never either of them before, TOGETHER they make a track that has the same complexity and mindfuckery of what I would have come to expect with Autechre's progression (fwiw, I'm not convinced they went in that direction though). In any case, had Gantz Graf been made into a full length, I'd expect it to sound like this (as I pretend I never heard LCC or Acroyear before).

Fuck it, if I was Autechre and I didnt care about spending a lot time working on my new albums (which is clearly the case for Quaristice as supported by its ass-loads of "versions"), I'd go back and mash all my unreleased and (publicly) unheard prior album candidates together and call it a new album.

It'd be better than anything they've done in 4 years.

This is alarmingly sick and reminded me of just why I used to listen to LP5 all the fucking time when I first picked it up. Trying to think of what from that time period I would try to crush into Sublimit now...
