Guest gron
This was kind of fun to skim... most of the famous stuff has only tripled in price in the last 15 years, which isn't too bad considering how people say it used to be soooo much cheaper http://ftp.monash.edu.au/pub/midi/DOC/prices-used-USA Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35115-prices-of-used-analog-gear-in-the-early-90s/ Share on other sites

Braintree
Yeah, it's funny that A LOT of people out there were thinking "Hey! this new digital thing is the shit! All of this other analogue gear is obsolete!" And then they actually played them. Guest hahathhat
hey man it's like anything else - there were some good digital synths and lot of others that were simply bandwagonneers Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35115-prices-of-used-analog-gear-in-the-early-90s/#findComment-753162 Share on other sites

Brandi_B
95 is around the time i got into synths. I didn't see it listed but compared to now, korg ms-20's were cheap as hell. Ms-10's were $195 and i swear I remember seeing ebay auctions for a mint ms-20 for under 400 bucks between 95-97. That was my most jonesed after synth until I discovered waldorf and clavia. Later ('97), I would've wanted a yamaha an1x if my friend didn't have one. Though I've been thinking about getting one lately since he sld his years ago. Great synth. and lol @ Waldorf Microwave synth $1000 (5/3/95) they are much cheaper nowadays.....and you can even get an xt for under 700 bucks, though for some purists it doesn't have the analog filter of the o.g. microwave but I think the xt filter does a fine job for not being analog. seems like the oberhiem matrix series hasn't changed much. Allthough in the US with inflation I guess technically they are more expensive now. BUt were expensive then too, even the matrix 1000. Casio CZ-1 kbd - !$350....much cheaper these days. Mines barely alive, but it at least makes noise! Brandi_B
i forgot about how much i used to be obsessed with the arp 2600 ...which subsided with a decent software emulation (not arturia's *blech*) ARP 2600 + kbd - $1000 (12/10/94) if it was in decent condition that was a STEAL compared to todays prices: recent 2008 ARP 2600 ebay auctions $7,018; 4,550;...one thats still going for $2,550 Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35115-prices-of-used-analog-gear-in-the-early-90s/#findComment-753535 Share on other sites
