erichodge
i started this track for the TTBH, but ended up scrapping it because i didn't like where it was going. spent some time in the past couple of days reworking it though, and i'm starting to like it. notes are delicately placed, and there are a few that still need to be changed, but overall, i think you can get the general idea of this track with what is there. let me know your thoughts on this one.... cheers all, eric indo_woo1i.mp3 3.96 MB · 63 downloads Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide erichodge's signature Hide all signatures -------- http://www.innerfuze.com Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35188-getting-close-to-what-i-want-my-sound-to-be/ Share on other sites
beneboi
my favorite part is that sliding koto/yelling sound that comes in every so often. drums are a bit dubsteppy for me, im at the end and i wish that slide-ey yelling sound would happen again. erichodge
i actually got rid of a lot of those slidy/yelly sounds because i thought they'd throw people off. i really like it. its a detuned viola with some heavy processing. gonna take your advice and add some more into the end. thanks much for the listen. cheers, eric Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide erichodge's signature Hide all signatures -------- http://www.innerfuze.com Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35188-getting-close-to-what-i-want-my-sound-to-be/#findComment-754750 Share on other sites
erichodge
update attached with more whiny viola at the end (also mixed down with a different sound card... i've always wondered how much difference that makes). would love more feedback. cheers all. Guest vodor
very nice. feels classic aphexy, with the ambient synths plus hard beats and such. Dementia
The processed strings sound as though they're distorting slightly (this may very well be due to my poorly configured sound system). Other than that, I think it's well-balanced with solid composition for backing. This, alongside of Subway Citadel, being the only other track of yours that I've heard, is top notch. Listened to this on on my bike ride to the Metra. I like that you've an aural concept of what sound you're trying to achieve. springymajig
It's pretty sweet... I like it. I listened to the second one BTW. My only crit is that BIG metallic snare, I think just in the first few seconds there's just a little too much of it. I like how you spread it out quite sparse most of the way I think it could be spread even more sparsely throughout. That's only a minor crit tho... I don't think you HAVE to do that... that's just my personal preference. Despite it having quite harsh sounds it certainly has a very ambient feel to it, like I just can't help but let it drift into the background after a while. It creates a really nice atmosphere.
