Guest Soothsayer
Here's the deal. I'm going to be running a Macbook(or Macbook Pro) w/a 2.4gHz processor. I'll be running Traktor Scratch on this laptop, and I'd *like* to be able to pull files from an external hard drive, firewire-based(note: I can't use any USB slot for the hard drive as I'm already devoting one of my USB ports for my soundcard to run Traktor Scratch, don't want to possibly hurt the performance of that by using other USB port). I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, is is even possible to run Traktor Scratch(or any similar program) smoothly pulling files from an external drive? Does anyone have any suggestions on a good(preferrably 7400rpm) firewire external drive that won't cost a fortune? Thanks folks! Guest Soothsayer
Cool, just read that post. Do you know specifically if there are any latency issues if I were to load an mp3 from an external drive, to control on a program like Traktor Scratch? That's my biggest fear(although, either way, I'll be taking your advice on that drive for backup purposes, anyway). edit: and thanks for the tip!
