enki
I'm in favor of anything that makes it easier for wannabe producers to create mediocre music. I've yet to see anything that makes me think it's more than another piece of bourgeois garbage. Too bad it's not as overtly gay as the Beamz Music System, otherwise it'd be a lot easier to see through the gimmick. Sucks to the Monome's assmar, too. Guest chunky
make an updated roland mc4/mc8 with switchable cv/gate OR v/Hz for each track make the timing rock solid midi sync and multiple din sync (in and out) switch between tb303 or mc202 and mc4 style sequencing for each track battery backup memory or flashmemory to store many sequences (usb interface + ps3 style various type of memory card slots) LED display, not LCD psu 100v/240v switchable enough cv gate outputs for say 8 instruments, make switchable to inputs for recording cv gate sequences add a volume lever for cv gate control and make it recordable so u can adjust the filter cutoff knob and record the sequence roland and yamaha are luddites stuck in the past, shame get the guy who made x0xb0x to make it ;-) fuck autechre Edited June 20, 2008 by chunky Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/35219-yamahas-tenori-on-finally-shipping-in-the-us/#findComment-756131 Share on other sites
BCM
i've had a few goes on a Tenori-On - very good fun, easy to get loops going and change them on the fly... whenever I used it though I always found myself automatically making deep repetitive techno type stuff...this is not a bad thing, but every time I went on one, the way it works and the sounds and sequencer always found me inevitably pumping out a deep techno head nodder.... would be really easy to use totally live - like turn up at a gig with nothing pre-prepared at all and just press play and see what happens - would always turn out pretty danceable from my experience... in fact, i think i want one... Guest greenbank
novelty pish and the price tag is completely unacceptable - a fully fledged decent laptop and software would cost less than this and do a hell of a lot more as far as composing is concerned. famous musician pete tong is a fan.... hah!
