what's going on in project 168 world?

i have a few ideas for eps, i might participate this time

the site's been down for quite some time!

G. I. Raffe was in charge of it, right?

has he changed his watmm username?

yeah... he was in charge... i don't know if he's still here under that name... so many name changes in the past few years, i've lost track!

I've just accepted that it's never going to happen again.

Is there some grander reason why someone else couldn't do this?

yeah i offered to host this on my site when raffe was out of contact for a while last time.

i was accused of trying to 'steal the fame' of p168 and basically lambasted for it.

dude, it's been dead for far too long. call it something else as suggested above and bring this baby back to life! if giraffe shows up and is pissed he's let the site rot w/ spam and trojans forever now.

maybe somewhere like Soundcloud would be a better place for it.

edit: or a custom site that links to tracks on soundcloud and gathers them into one place. that way its easier to control whats in and whats out

edit:: because its a bit pointless spending time building infrastructure to do things like allow people to comment, filter out spam and host playable mp3s when there's loads of sites doing that well already

Or... make a dedicated Bandcamp for it. That's what I'm planning to do with the Tesla Comp. And on the assumption if I do it next year as well.

I'm not sure how well bandcamp would be suited for it. Separate bandcamps for separate iterations? ie p168v4.bandcamp.com, p168v5.bandcamp.com etc That way it can be broken into each artists album from there?

Or as mentioned, if we could aggregate soundcloud sets onto a page that would take care of the commenting aspect and such. Is it possible to allow comments on bandcamp, afaik it's not.

yeah make this happen. i didnt get the idea till i did it one year and really got it.

I have some ideas to make it happen. It seems as though I may have to take the helm at getting this beast going again. It will be before the summer is up if it's going to happen, as I know I won't have the time once Uni. get's rolling again.

i wish i had time to take a week off and do this...

its not about taking a week off. its about using your freetime more purposefully and in the process you realize how much time you waste in your daily life and how much more productive you could be. plus if you make something shit it still goes up on the website and people say nice things about it

Yeah, that's what it's all about. My submission for pt 3 was pretty weak imo, but I was working two jobs and going to school full time, plus I was just learning Live at that point. It was still fun tho :sup:
