Depends how various job related things turn out. If I get my way, I might be able to choose to work in Ireland for a year.

It'd be in County Kildare, whatever that means.

I'm thinking the Scotch opporunities will be glorious. I've never had Irish whiskey, so that might be good too. I'd also like to visit Cathcart in scotland and show everyone my passport.

Is this a good idea (remember it's temporary initially) ?

I've got a bunch of family in Derry, so I'd probably end up visiting one way or another anyway.

It's pretty much either Ireland or Malaysia, so the choice is pretty clear. Just hope I get the opportunity.

I'd go to Malaysia, Ireland's basically just another suburb of London.

Flip the words round and it probably discribes Bushmills.

I did the scotch tasting tour at Bushmills distillery way back in 1996. I learned that Bushmills has the dubious distinction of having the highest rate of incest in Europe. Don't know if it was true, but I started looking at the people in town differently after that, trying to detect signs of inbreeding...

Growing up in Northern Ireland I always assumed that the ratio of Downs kids to normal kids was about 5/1 everywhere, only when I moved out I realised that wasnt the case and it was mostly down to inbreding. Loads of wonky eyes about as well that ive been informed is a breding problem. Its not nessecarilly people fucking their sisters, mothers and cousins but when you live in areas of a few thousand people chances are your fucking some sort of distant relative.

visiting ireland is nicer than living there. prepare to get fat and eating potato wedges with everything...and eating overpriced pizza.

Mrs. Dob & I moved from the US to Dublin about 10 months ago. It's nice but shockingly expensive especially if you're coming from the States. Co. Kildare is just just east of Co. Dublin, nice horse racing country.

Irish and Scotch whiskey are completely different, so edumacate yourself on both before coming over!

I never went -- but today I did meet a guy from the Ireland office. It was like talking to a Lucky Charms commercial.

This might actually happen in a year or two.
