Guest goodwillsidis
Anyone used this? I'd love to hear a first-hand tale of the SU700 experience from an idmhead. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/36350-su700/ Share on other sites
Guest Idrn
christ, are you serious? blatently a joke but i loved that piece of shit. i've got one sitting in the loft at home which i don't have the heart to sell. saved up bday/xmas money for a few years and got one on my 13th birthday - many a happy hour spent waiting for 8 floppy disks to load. I take it you never got the SCSI card.. did you do all your sampling with the boxes audio in, or is there any way to 'dump' samples via sysex like I used to do with my Akai s2000? speedy j called these "the 303 of samplers" in an interview I read... in a lot of ways, the 303 was "blatantly a joke" too right? I'm personally drawn toward cheap joke alternatives to expensive pieces of kit... zazen
but is there any difference between a sampler machine and a software sampler (apart from having to mess around with floppy disks) all sampler devices are digital, right? Guest Idrn
it had that sort of MPC type quality to it, and the fx/sample warping were good (to the ears of a 13 year old at least). and no, i didnt have any sysex/zip drive fandooly – at that age it was just a pair of crappy decks, cs1x keyboard, mic and about 50 floppy disks (which had the knack of getting corrupted all the time). if people are saying it was the 303 of samplers then i might hold onto it for a while and see what happens... Guest Aces
You should always keep things like that back for a rainy day when you are bored of the way you currently work.
