Aphex & Hard Times

My dad just died a couple of weeks ago. Aphex is about all I've been listening to. It helps....

Don't listen to any new music for a while. The next time you listen to it, it will remind you of what's happened.

Well, I didn't listen to any music for the first week or so, which is crazy for me... but now that I'm getting back into the swing of things I think it's alright. I've listened to Aphex for so long it's not sentimental for me, it's like breathing. It just makes me feel better, gets my mind off of things....

i listened to dirge for november when i hit a rough spot and now everytime i hear it it reminds me of what happened but it makes me fucing rock out and feel pretty god damn awesome, it's such a dope tune, my favorite opeth track.

once a long time when i was on shrooms i was crying about god and had lichen on repeat for like 3 hours

When my father-in-law died, my wife's family wanted me to make a Power Point slideshow of pictures for the funeral synched to a montage of his favorite songs. It seemed okay or whatever but now, one of those songs inevitably comes on and it feels like an acidy knife going into my stomach. Such horrid memories. He accidentally electrocuted himself in his basement and wasn't found for three days so he bloated up and stunk. Anyway, I relied on SAW II when my grannie Albert was near death during heart surgery. It didn't spoil it fortunately. The lesson here is that you can't touch Aphex. He's invincible.
