Guest iep
...and loads of other controllers too, see http://www.faderfox.de they'll cost around 175 euros (and are made in germany) the 'DJ2' looks really great IMHO, a bcr2000 and two DJ2's must be the perfect 4-deck traktor setup! Guest Iain C
Does that use midi or what? To be honest I'm OK with my synth, 25 knobs and 4 sliders are good enough for me  I don't DJ though so maybe it'd be more useful if you're into that Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/3685-new-faderfox-controllers/#findComment-74144 Share on other sites
Guest iep
yes it's a midi controller, so it uses midi  if you already have a nice controller you can program it to control ableton ofcourse.. but the LV2, DX2 and LX2 are specially made for ableton... just take a closer look at the layout of the controllers, it's perfect for ableton.. and they are small, so you can just throw them in a bag or some shit if your doing a gig.. Guest Promo
I'm surprised they don't have usb2. Midi is kinda becoming redundant in computer technology with usb and firewire now or am wrong? Guest iep
well an extra usb-port would've been nice but pricey (probably around 25$ more) and midi isn't becoming redundant at all i think.. you can't control other synths/samplers with usb2, you need midi for that shit.. and i dont think that there will be a new MIDI-like standard in the new future... although yamaha's mLan is pretty promising.. Guest Chimp Logic
They stick to MIDI only instead of USB to avoid needing more drivers for functionality. Guest Keef Baker
So is it just me or do they not seem as good... I have an LV-1 and there's no way I'd swap it for an LV2... But as I was considering a 2nd lv1 if I get an lv2 at least it'll be ovbious which is which. If you are using more than 1 usb port at a time for audio/midi purposes there's a big chance you get all kinds of weird errors. I experienced this first-hand, switched back to midi, just using one usb port for a midi interface and the problems were gone.
