what's this "secret" i keep hearing about...

i keep hearing this thing about how they have a secret or something, related to their music production i think

i mean where did this all come from and why do people think this?

i think its just because the treat the music in ways to make it sound aged

Fuelled by gullible fans reading too much into BoC's admitting to e.g. having experimented with applying the golden ratio to melodies and such (something tells me WATMMers have done geekier things); taking all the backmasking games too seriously and whatever else there is to fuel the fire. I love me some BoC and I've probably listened to them more than any other artist over the past years (last.fm agrees), but I appreciate it at face value, it's excellent music plain and simple, doesn't need to be much more to it for me.

well they do say in an interview that they have a secret weapon. i always thought that it was an mpc, but i think they mentioned they use one. probably a reel to reel or something, i don't know

i heard they record to tape and then leave it out in the sun in a vat of mayonnaise for a week.

it being scotland, they import the sun from italy in jars.

their secret weapon is talent.

i heard they had this machine that emits microwaves and can vaporise water and that they were gonna drive it on a train to wayne towers and vaporise all the water in the city and that the water was laced with a terrifying hallucinogen that will make everyone go nuts and kill each other

the secret weapon is the reach-around. makes my knees tremble just thinking about it.
