For those that didn't make it onto the Black Hole comp

First off, congratulations to those that did get picked (see the list here). I think its great when projects like the Black Hole one happen in EKT, and I look forward to hearing the release.

However, if you entered the competition and didn't get picked, and if you're anything like me, you're now a little disappointed, and you have a Black Hole themed track that you dont know what to do with.

I would like to collect the 'unchosen' Black Hole tracks together, zip them up and post them to a thread in General Banter. It will be a way to get the unchosen tracks heard, and hopefully it will also whet people's appetites for the official release when it appears.

Also, I like the idea of giving the compilation of unchosen tracks the title 'Infinite Suck'.

I've already PMd a few people about this, some have opted out but I have four tracks on board so far. I'm posting this thread for the other people who submitted...

I would like to do this quickly so here's the plan:

- if you want to be included on 'Infinite Suck' then PM your black hole track to me by 23:00 GMT Wednesday 27th August. Or email it to mail@koanotic.org

- only tracks that were entered to Fred's original competition can be submitted

- soon after that I will zip them together and host the zip, and then post a thread to General Banter announcing the release

- I also need some artwork, if you've got anything PM it or post it here. I've already had some ... interesting ... artwork ideas sent to me : )

- some of the tracks are already in YLC, but the idea of Infinite Suck is to get a bit more exposure. On the other hand, I'm not running a net label and won't be promoting this other than posting it in General Banter. Also, I wont be asking for exclusive rights to tracks or anything serious like that.

... and most importantly...

- this is only worth doing if its done with a spirit of fun. I think what Fred's doing is great and I dont want to undermine it in any way. This is a way to get the tracks that we've worked on out there, but we're not trying to 'compete' with Fred's chosen selection.

It looks like Fred is going to launch the official release soon, as the black holes album art thread in GB is coming up with some corkers.

This is much sooner than I originally guessed, so here's a slight change of plan:

Infinite Suck will be delayed for a few weeks, because I think it will be a bit naff if both releases appear at the same time.

We have 7 tracks so far, I might as well extend the 'deadline' to 8th September to see if anyone else wants to join in

I reckon we should release Infinite suck about two weeks after the official release

OK, so Fred hasn't launched the official one yet, although he is working on it

So I will aim to release Infinite Suck in the next couple of days
