Guest telikan
www.luomomusic.org Has substantial samples for every track. When I read the write up for the album on another page, I thought I'd kind of hate it, but the samples didn't scare me that much. The only one that would've made me not buy the album at all was the second track with that Apparat dude. Yikes, not for me. The Robert Owens track and the last one especially, "Lonely Music Co.", sound KILLER however. Nothing is half as dubbed out as I'd hope it'd be though. No real deep and tender romantic house vibes either. My greatest wish for a Luomo joint would be finally another track that breaks the 10 minute barrier. I also kinda prefer how the vocalists were always mostly anonymous. I guess all that stuff kind of went the way of Luukas Onnekas too. Guest Enter a new display name
I doubt Convivial will be as great as Vocalcity. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/37514-luomo-convivial/#findComment-815436 Share on other sites
Guest telikan
Well, all one can really hope is that it's not a step down from Paper Tigers. Vocalcity and The Present Lover were really on par with each other, and were both uniquely mindblowing with slightly different flavors. Paper Tigers was just different and had a slightly less inspired vibe with some killer tracks. I still wouldn't rule out hope for another Luomo album that's more like the first releases and almost as good. The V. Delay stuff really drifted away into some different territory for a long time with the first two Huume releases, but he kinda ended a four year detour on Whistleblower, which sounded like what the more logical next step after Entain and Anima would have been. Who knows-- I think he moved back to Finland, so all the vibes could change. azatoth
vocalcity was awesome, but couldn't get into the present lover and haven't really listened to paper tigers. otherwise is love his other stuff. can't wait for the moritz von oswald trio album where delay plays percussion. convivial sounds ok, but i'd like to hear an instrumental version of this, but i guess that's not what luomo is about.
