Pretty sure we already knew that Aphex Twin made Red and Green UI's?

E - Or at least, were pretty sure.

I met RDJ in late 2000 and asked him what Universal Indicator tracks were his. He answered: "half the tracks on the red one". I was surprised he didn't mention more. I asked: "nothing on the green one ?" since it is the most Aphexy-sounding to me. And he replied: "no... the red one". Maybe he was just messing with me, but 6 months ahead, he told me about the creation of his new MEN label (which came true) and confirmed the existence of the Q-Chastic double-12" with no plans to re-release it. This is what he said to me. What you believe is now up to you ! :)

I don't believe him. I'd believe it if he said Green and not Red. He's probably saying Red because he knows people on the internets think he made Red and Green when he really only made Green - so now hes saying he only made Red for a laugh.

OK, this is what we are certain of:

- He made TWO of the short noise tracks on UI RED

- He made one other track on UI RED (it was NOT the final track)

- He produced the noise at 1:02 on UI GREEN, C2

- He decided that the Hour-long Mix CD should be split up into tracks of 1:01, 2:02, 3:03, 6:06 etc.

- Someone named John managed to secretly replace track U2 with a slap bass thing, the original was later released on UI Ultraviolet

- He wanted UI BLUE to be split across eighteen 7" records, but Grant refused to press it

- Both Richard and Grant produced over 35 drone tracks meant for a UI Black release. Only one of them was released (UI Green, D1)

So in other words... we know AFX did little pissy noise tracks and at least one actual track for UI red, but besides that... we don't know anything. Gee what a surprise, we don't know the full story?
