it think its not the beats per se, rather the samples... they just seem really like, the kicks have no depth, the snares have no snap and the hit length is quite short.

the hats do add a nice rhythm to this... but BEEF up those drums a bit... i think the underlying melody is good too (the quieter line), but the louder (main?) line seems like it could be produced a bit more to have a bit of a more pleasing nature to it.

just my thoughts.

thanks for the constructive criticism, drums are a bit thin etc - just one thing, not samples for the drums - all my stuff is made with hardware - drums are from an early 80's Korg MR16 drum machine - but yeah, the sounds on it are not that beefy and i have to fiddle about with the EQ to make them more powerful - guess I just didn't pump up the bass and mid range enough!
