Guest Calx Sherbet
Okay, how the hell did some of these tracks get there alternate names? so someone looked at the picture of rusty metal and their initial thought was "white blur 2" ? Guest Calx Sherbet
elaborate. also, noticed. Grey stripe's alt. name is windowsill, and there is a track called windowsill. so, which track does the windowsill pic go with? Dragon
You're looking at the American pics. The most common names are based on the WARP Records pics: As you can see, they all make perfect sense here (though the tracks "parallel stripes" and "grey stripe" are named after the wrong pictures). hardcode
i bought the double CD like 14 years ago and i downloaded mp3s of it like 5 years ago cause I didn't feel like "diggin in da crates", i renamed all the tracks to just "cd1 track1" etc and also removed all the id3 tags or whatever. i always thought that was kind of gay, whoever's idea it was to name the tracks that way. like you already ripped the mp3s and are allowing everyone else to steal it, at least just leave the track names alone. (right above the blue calx pic). or is that supposed to mean black and white stripes? Joyrex
*sigh* All the tracks on SAW2 are untitled - the "names" given to them were by Gonzi Marchan and Alan Perry when they were doing the first AFX Discography that was on WARP Records' website until about early 1999. Paul Nicholson, creator of the Aphex Twin logo and type, also did the design for SAW2, and in an interview with him, he explains how each picture represents each track (in terms of how much time it takes up on the disc, etc.). Richard himself did the photography for SAW2. I really, really need to get this info back online... hardcode
it's detrimental to the listening experience, dont' you think that when aphex made the tracks he would have named them if he thought they needed names Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Hide hardcode's signature Hide all signatures www.soundcloud.com/hardcode Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/37969-saw-2-track-pics/#findComment-828750 Share on other sites
