it's free, it's an easy language. get a book on this, to learn the elements. you can do awesome stuff with it really quick. lots of libraries for interacting with other software/hardware.

disadvantage is: the renderer sucks for hires video or complex realtime graphics, but then it's crossplatform.

how much/when does this become a problem? been thinking of learning processing but I'd want to do some stuff with video and I get really bored working with long render times. would you recommend anything else or is it more a matter of how you work with it?

I installed that program, and honestly it looks impossible.

But i'll probably try messing around with it one day when i'm bored or hungover. ha
