Guest chunky
i can sell you a cs 10 for £210 or a sh 101 for £300 maybe. ask me next week. cs10 has an audio input you can put an external sound source through the filter (awesome), but the control is V/Hz so it won't be compatible with CV/gate stuff (most old roland equipment). the sounds are cool and if you can play an instrument and you have a kenton pro solo or something like that you can control it with a midi sequencer. roland sh101 is one of the cliche things going on around here. nearly everyone has a roland sh101, tr 606, and tr 707 it has cv/gate in and out, external click in so u can trigger the internal sequencer or arpeggiator, and the sounds are pretty good. you can use a kenton with the sh101 too. theres a bloke who can modify the 101 to give a audio input for the filter, it costs £101, hehe Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/38294-roland-sh-101-or-yamaha-cs105/#findComment-835743 Share on other sites

BCM
yeah, 101's are undoubtedly cool, but everyone's got one - i'd go for something different - dunno about the cs10/5 though due to having to also purchase a kenton pro solo to sequence and sync it which adds another £150 odd to the price....anything else in your price range you've been looking at? Guest chunky
It's not only an external input in mod. Check out the guy's website: http://www.circuitbenders.co.uk/synthmod3.html#sh101 I ain't dealt with the geezer before. And the link was found on google m8. If something's fashionable it can be lame to get it because it's the in thing and everyone will sound the same, but saying that, the sh-101 isn't a bad machine. I'd recommend this: http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/mopo.shtml £430 ask me next week, maybe I can sell it to you Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/38294-roland-sh-101-or-yamaha-cs105/#findComment-836047 Share on other sites
SCONES TO DIE FOR
http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/products/mopho/ There's this one too. I haven't heard it yet, and it's ugly with a dumb name, but the specs good. It has a simple sequencer. And it's Dave Smith. $400 USD new. enki
Bah. I'll spare y'all my editorializing. I'd take the SH101 over either of the Yamahas, but that's due to my 24dB bias.
